Frequently Asked Questions

During winter, the region’s average temperatures range from 6.5 – 14.2°C (43.7 – 57.6°F). Snowfall is familiar northeast of Victoria in an area known as High Country, but not in the city. The weather is usually cold and cloudy, and frosts may occur at night.

Families visiting Victoria who want to introduce their children to the snow or explore the cross-country skiing opportunities should consider Lake Mountain Alpine Resort.

Snowfall occurs in multiple Australian states: New South Wales (NSW), Tasmania, South Australia, and Victoria. For those interested in downhill skiing, Victoria is home to Mt. Buller, Falls Creek and Mt. Hotham. NSW is home to the Snowy Mountains, the highest mountain range in Australia and receives approximately 1.9 metres of snowfall annually.

It can be challenging to determine the conditions of the snow season in advance as they vary from year to year. To plan your visit, it is recommended to regularly check the snow reports and weather forecasts

Marysville is the nearest town to Lake Mountain, just a thirty-minute drive from the top. The city offers a variety of accommodations to suit all needs.

Pets are prohibited at the resort because it is a protected Alpine Environment.
